After we collect you, we'll head straight for Bannockburn, see photo site of Robert the Bruce's famous victory over England's King Edward the Second in the year 1314, for a wander around the battlefield, with its fabulous views of Stirling Castle. see photo

Next, we'll head up to Stirling Castle, for a wander around its ramparts, the Great Hall, see photo see photoChapel Royal and reconstructed mediaeval kitchens. The views are fantastic, allowing glimpses of the Ochil Hills, the Trossachs and even Ben Lomond. If time allows, we can meander through the Victorian graveyard see photo, past the Holy Rude Church and 17th century Cowane's Hospital.

From Stirling Castle, we take a short drive to the base of the Wallace Monument. see photo For the more fit and active, it's a short climb up a steep road to the top of the knoll, where William Wallace stood during the Battle of Stirling Bridge.

Then, it's a scenic drive along the route of the old Roman Road to Drymen, and on to Balmaha for a lunch stop. Balmaha is situated on a beautiful bay, on the quiet side of Loch Lomond. If time allows, we can take a gentle stroll to the old pier, past the ducks, swans, and anchored boats, to take in the breathtaking views of the islands in the middle of the Loch. There are 30 islands in total but legend has it that if you drink enough whisky, a mysterious 31st island appears out of the mist!

After lunch and a stroll, we'll head south again to Glengoyne Distillery, see photo for an informative tour of the various stages involved in the making of Scotland's most famous export, at one of Scotland's most scenic distilleries. We'll then head back to our starting point.

Along the way, we'll fit in comfort breaks and photo stops, and will try to be as flexible as possible.
